SEND
At Reedley Hallows Nursery School we strongly believe that every pupil regardless of sex, race, religion and special educational needs and disabilities, should be valued equally and have access to educational opportunities and a broad balanced curriculum. For all pupils, the purpose of education is the same, the goals are the same, but the help individual children need in progressing towards them will be different.
We will adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of every child, ensuring that they get the level of support needed to allow them to reach their full potential. This might include 1:1support a Targeted Learning Plan, or additional resources to develop a particular skill. We will liaise directly with medical professionals to support the needs of children with long-term medical conditions, and ensure that staff receive appropriate training.
Our nursery school building provides an accessible, inclusive environment for SEND pupils and we have a special needs bathroom with specialist facilities.
We are very fortunate in that we have a speech and language therapist working in nursery one day every month, which allows targeted interventions to take place, support groups for parents and additional training for staff .
Our SEND policy (Special Educational Needs & Disability) ensures all our pupils are able to access the curriculum. A copy of our policy is available below.
If you have any concerns or complaints regarding the support provided by school for a child with SEND, please make an appointment to speak to the school SENCO or headteacher. Alternatively see our compliments and complaints policy below.
Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO): Debbie Gornall Fox. To contact the SENCO, please telephone 01282 682285 or email senco@reedleyhallows.lancs.sch.uk
